At its launch, Profiles was immediately one of may favorite features and I clearly recall the “Oh my God, this is awesome” moment when I learned about it. My discovery of the feature coincided with my girlfriend moving in with me. The process of becoming acclimated to living together was eased by her ability to watch a seemingly endless stream of “Desperate Housewives” episodes in quick succession while I took my time with “A History of Violence” and “Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior”. We still live together and it would be only a small exaggeration to say that this feature played a small role in the fact that we will be getting married one month from today.

Perhaps you read this and think it is time that I be prepared to share everything, including my movie queue, with the future Mrs. Dicker. You may have a point; she is the love of my life and sharing is what marriage is about. But isn’t it enough that I’ve offered to teach her stick shift so she can drive my BMW? I’m taking dance lessons for the wedding. Can’t you let me hang on to this one little bit of my bachelorhood? I love her more than words, but despite being from Texas, she just isn’t a “No Country for Old Men” kind of gal.

Defendant Nicholas spiked the drinks of others with MDMA (ecstacy) without their knowledge, including … the drinks of technology executives and representatives who worked for Broadcom’s customers,” the indictment alleged without identifying the victims.

The indictment detailed episodes in which Nicholas allegedly used and distributed illicit drugs, including cocaine and methamphetamines.

On a flight from Orange County to Las Vegas aboard a private plane, the government alleges, Nicholas used and distributed drugs, “causing marijuana smoke to enter the cockpit and requiring the pilot flying the plane to put on an oxygen mask.”

It lists three properties described in previous Times reports about Nicholas’ alleged indulgences in drugs and prostitutes:

* An equestrian estate in Laguna Hills, where Nicholas had constructed a warren of tunnels and underground rooms, including one that contractors alleged was intended to become a secret “sex lair.”

* A warehouse-office complex in nearby Laguna Niguel, which contractors said was used for the same purposes and nicknamed “The Ponderosa.”

* A Newport Coast residence where Nicholas was trying to start a record company and where rock groups frequently visited.

The Sultan is famous for his vast automobile collection. In 1998, the British car magazine Autocar published undercover photographs of the Sultan’s cars, which included unique modifications of Ferraris and Bentleys. It has been said that he has at least 3,000 to 5,000 cars and has bought over U.S.$4 billion worth of cars. The number purchased by his business interests and the number actually used by himself and his family differ greatly. According to Guinness World Records the Sultan’s personal private collection has 500 Rolls-Royces — the largest collection of that marque in the world. During the 1990s, his family accounted for almost half of all Rolls-Royce purchases, bulk buying slightly modified vehicles for diplomats and adding unique cars to their own collection. He also owns the very last Rolls-Royce Phantom VI, a 1992 state landaulette.
